QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Date: Mar 25, 2008
Question:
I have three indoor cats (one male cat and two female cats), one male cat and one female cat are fixed but one not yet fixed she is 4 years old, we have her from maybe one month old she is fine with two other cats until we take her to get fixed recently last Tues this week and brought her home to put her in one room separate with other cats to make sure she is taken care of, check her wound and pain medication, etc... she been in a room not out til today she was excited to come out and smell and familiar surroundings, she is fine with one female cat but it's odd that she who is newly fixed never fight with a male cat they get along fine before getting fixed but after that I was very concerned she saw a male cat all of sudden she attacked him and fought with him, furs flying that never happen before, its three times today and i dont know what to do, need advice so badly and help me understand why she behaves to a male cat even though all three cats in same house for four years what cause her act that way ?? i am so concerned and helpless so I put my male cat in door closed so afraid if I let male cat come out and she will might attack him again
Debra

It is likely due to your cat smelling differently when she came home from the vet. It usually works itself out in a couple of weeks.
