QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Question:
I have 14 yr old female with large breast tumor which has ulcerated. I am just trying to keep her comfortable for her remaining days. Two vets have said there is nothing i can do but keep the wounds clean. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I hope she is on some sort of pain management. I would definitely ask for medication to control her discomfort, as these can be quite painful. Some of these can be removed surgically - you might want to consider consulting with a surgical specialist to see if this would be possible. Surgical removal, while it may not prolong life if the tumor has already spread, can give a lot of pain relief in the time she has left. I wish you the best with this - these are very difficult to deal with, and are often more aggressive in cats than in dogs.
