QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Date: May 5, 2008
Question:
Hello. I have a six month old kitten that I have been taking out on walks via a leash and harness. My questions is this: If I choose to stop the walks now would it in anyway change his attitude or will he eventually get the idea that he will not be allowed outside anymore and still be the same loveable little guy he is now? Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.
Shelly

It depends on the kitty. If he really enjoys the walks, he may miss them for a while, but most cats, especially young ones, adjust well to being completely indoors. Just make sure to give him plenty to do - toys, vertical space, scratching posts, etc.
