QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Date: May 5, 2008
Question:
my cat has recently started to show signs of allergies. he has sneezed and been a heavy breather/snorer since he was little. He is breathing hard more than normal now, his eyes have discharge constantly (started yellow, now looks red like dried blood), his eye lids are crusty and bright pink, and he is squinting. I also have another cat that seems to be fine. I am a college student with very limited funds, so taking him to the vet is difficult. Is there anything I can do to treat him at home?
Candice

You need to get him to a vet - it sounds like he might have a pretty serious infection. You might try calling your area animal control to see if they know of a low income assistance program in your city. Good luck!
