QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Date: Oct 11, 2007
Question:
My cat has developed a curved spin with a slight hump in her back. I doesn't seem to effect her other than limiting her jumping heigth. What is this - can it be treated and should it be treated?

I would definitely advise that you see your regular veterinarian about this. If it is limiting your cat's jumping height, it is likely causing some discomfort. They won't lay around and cry about this, but pain can show up in very subtle ways.

While it is impossible to give a diagnosis without seeing your cat, possibilities include degenerative diseases, trauma, and cancer. Please see your vet as soon as possible!
