QUESTIONS TO THE CAT EXPERTS:

Date: Jul 15, 2008
Question:
I have a 9-month-old Siamese female that seems to be continually in heat. I want to have one litter of kittens from her after she's a yar old -- I have several people wanting a kitten from her. Then I plan on having her spayed. Is there any way to keep her from coming into heat or at least to tone it down a bit. She's making everyone crazy -- especially my 2-year-old neutered Siamese male.
Georgia

Your cat will continue to go into heat repeatedly until she is either spayed, bred or develops a uterine infection called pyometra. There is no safe way to tone down these symptoms without spaying, so if you REALLY want kittens, it is just something you will have to live with.
