| Question: my cat is super fat should i be worried and how can i help her loose weight ? Gabby Yes, you should be worried. Being obese puts your cat at risk for many health problems, including diabetes, joint disease, and hepatic lipidosis if she quits eating. As for how to get her to lose weight, it is a pretty simple formula, just as in people - fewer calories in, more calories out:) Try getting in 10 minutes of concentrated play time every day, and try cutting back the amount of food you are feeding by 10% monthly until she starts losing weight. Be sure to look for a slow steady weight loss - if she quits eating or starts losing weight rapidly, get her in to the vet right away. Good luck! |
