| Question: My unfixed, 8-year-old cat has recently gotten outside and went missing for about two days. Nothing seemed different when she came back, but three days ago I noticed that she threw up a green liquidy-like twice; however, I didn't think much of it. The next day she was in a strange daze and wouldn't eat. She was moving incredibly slow and was very lethargic all day, hiding under my bed. I got an antibiotic in her and she started to perk up and is more like her normal self now, eating and begging for food when she's hungry. I noticed, though, a discharge coming out of her behind, and when she sits down, her spots look like it could possibly be blood. She was a runt as a kitten and has always been a very tiny cat; is it possible she has had a miscarriage? Becca This sounds like a possible uterine infection called pyometra. She needs to go to the vet right away - this can be life-threatening. There are other possibilities as well, but she definitely needs to be examined. |
