| Question: My cat is a female, 14 yrs. old and has just recently started losing weight, not eating very much, and does not play like she used to. She is sleeping all day and night. She is drinking plenty of water and uses the litter box just fine. I have changed cat food and it hasn;t made any difference. Patricia Bowman As pets age, it is a good idea to do a complete blood workup to get a better picture of how the major organs are functioning. Yes, pets tend to change their activity levels a bit, but it's also a good idea to make sure there are no underlying medical issues. Plus, your vet should be able to make some helpful suggestions as to "better" food to fed aging pets and make other suggestions. |
