Pooing out of the litter tray Posted by Charlybrown | Jan 6, 2009 My 9 month old will wee in her own litter tray but poos anywhere but! What do i do?I have a 14 yr old and an 8 month old and they are fine. Also my 14 yr old tabby tolerates my 8 month old tabby but detests Fluffy, the 9 month old who is a black short haired with a persian tail (rescued as she was too fluffy apparently). Leah (14 yr old) will attack her on purpose but will leave Lottie alone (the 8 month old). Help about the behaviour and Fluffy pooing anywhere but her litter tray! She takes a pee in it though! Cheers Posted by KittyMamma | Feb 15, 2009 My first question is, how many litterboxes do you have for your three cats? Some cats will gladly share their litterbox with other cats, some will refuse to share a litterbox, and some even need seperate litterboxes for urinating and defacating. The rule of thumb is one litterbox per cat, plus one. This is not always necessary, but if your kitty urinates just fine in her litterbox, but refuses to defacate, my first step would be to add at least one more litterbox to the mix (do not place it near the existing litterbox[es]), and see what happens. If possible, introduce Fluffy to the new litterbox by herself and keep the other cats away. http://KittyMamma.blogspot.com SCRATCHPAD ARCHIVESearch the Scratchpad archives LOG IN TO POST A NEW TOPICNot a user yet?
